About Chinchilla

Beautiful Chinchilla

Chinchilla, an attractive town with tree lined streets, is situated in the heart of the Western Downs, traversed by the Warrego Highway and less than 300 kilometres from Brisbane.

This small, but thriving, community has progressed from a rural- based economy that includes cattle, sheep, timber and crops of melons, grain and, cotton, cattle, sheep and timber to the progressive, dynamic region where coal and exploration go hand in hand with power- station development.

Its tourist attractions include fishing, gem and petrified wood fossicking areas.

The Chinchilla Cultural Centre, located in Heeney Street, the main street of Chinchilla is a first class venue, purpose built for Conferences such as ours.

Off-street car parking is available.

The RSL is a short walk from the Conference Venue, still in Heeney Street. Complimentary membership will be provided for all to enjoy the excellent facilities.

Chinchilla has ATMs at Westpac, Commonwealth and ANZ Banks. Good general shopping facilities are located in the CBD.
