PP David Snow

David has been a Rotarian for over 20 years. He has held most positions of office within his Rotary club [Toowoomba] except for treasurer.

He cherishes a long association with that club, his father Peter has been an active member since 1961 [President 74-75], his maternal grandfather Dave Stewart was an early member [President 37-38] and his paternal grandfather Charles Snow an honorary member of the Rotary Club of Brisbane in the 1940's.

Born and raised in Toowoomba, he attended Rangeville and East State Schools and later Toowoomba State High School.

He commenced a Commerce degree at UQ in 1976 and later switched to a B.Bus[Marketing] USQ from where he graduated.

He spent 4 years as a Retail Area Manager working for the Shell Company of Australia based in Brisbane and later Rockhampton. In 1984 he responded to an invitation from his father to return to Toowoomba and enter the family Real Estate business. He remains in the same company, as a licensed Real Estate Agent and Auctioneer along with a brother Peter and brother-in-law John Liley as equal partners.

David married his wife Annie in 1987 and they have a family of 3 children - Will [21yo.], Georgia [20yo.] and Alec [17yo.]. Annie is a principal at the Toowoomba Early Childhood Development Programme [Education Queensland].

Over the past 3 years he has been a member of the National Carriage Factory fund raising committee which have been successful in raising  almost $7million. The new building will be completed before the end of the year and double the area currently called the Cobb and Co. Museum in Toowoomba.

David has been a recipient of a Paul Harris Recognition and the Centenary Medal, both for 'services to the community'. 

He was the Chairman of the District 9630 Conference Committee for PDG Errol Wildman [2007-08] and was pleased to be invited by DG Nick Curry to act as the MC for the March Conference in Chinchilla.

Soon after this conference David will lead a team of four outstanding adults to Sweden [District  2350] as part of the Group Study Exchange Programme.  

On a personal level David and his wife both have a passion for road cycling and have enjoyed a vast amount of travel involved with cycling.  David also takes pleasure in a friendly competitive game of golf and other interests include art and reading.  David's perfect Sunday would be an early morning cycle with mates, the company of his wife Annie, his children, friends, a good wine and a mud crab or two!
