Pride of Workmanship

The presentation of Pride of Workmanship awards is a significant date on the Rotary calendar

and clubs throughout Australia host evenings just like this at various times of the year.

These awards recognize employees, irrespective of age or vocation, who in the eyes of their

employer display outstanding qualities in approach, attitude, dedication and commitment to

his or her job.

Within Rotary a person's vocation is a major consideration for membership. It is important

because a member's vocation can assist them to contribute significantly toward service both

internationally and locally within the community. That is why, if you look at a members name

tag it also shows that person’s occupation, or if retired, their former occupation.

The objects of the Pride of Workmanships awards are:-

To promote Vocational Service

To encourage Pride of Workmanship in all vocations

To provide employers with an opportunity to recognize employees who display the

qualities worthy of an award

To encourage favourable employer/employee relationships and a sense of community

pride and individual achievement

To provide an opportunity for Rotary to be involved in the community, particularly the

business community.
