A project of Rotary Districts of Australia and New Zealand, ROMAC is dedicated “.....to provide
medical treatment for children from developing countries in the form of life saving and/or dignity restoring surgery…..”
The Northern Region Committee is a Multi-District entity embracing Districts 9550, 9570, 9600, 9630, 9640 and 9650, coordinating the activities of ROMAC within those Districts. The District Chairman of each of the District
ROMAC Committees is a member of the Multi-District Committee.
The District 9630 Committee informs Clubs, Rotarians and their partners of the ongoing work of ROMAC, requests funding and organises the necessary caring support required for ROMAC patients and their carers within our District. For guest speakers please contact the Chairman, PP John Smith.

ROMAC provides medical treatment to children from developing countries in the form of

ROMAC is the only Rotary sponsored children’s medical program
ROMAC is managed by regional committees in all areas of Australia & New Zealand
ROMAC is supported by government, hospitals and doctors in all states
ROMAC has been in operation since 1987
ROMAC has treated over 300 children from Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Fiji,
Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Kiribati, Malaysia, Nauru, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea,
Philippines, Russia, Sri Lanka, Timor Leste, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu and
Vietnam
Considerable assistance from the medical profession and fundraising efforts ensure
there is no disadvantage to Australian children and doctors treating children gain skills
that benefit Australian children
